Artist Statement.........deutsche Version

Within my video and installation artwork I m exploring the visual perception of the subject in terms of how individuals are visually educated by their socio-cultural surroundings and the strong effects of suppression (=Verdrängungsleistung) on visual perception. Working with Video, Installation and Sound, I create situations and forms of visual communication to deconstruct binary definitions, differences and constructions of identity(-ies), the self, the body and its political dimensions.
